ISAs & Junior ISAs
ISAs and JISAs are a smart way to invest for the future of you and your children. With flexible options and no tax on interest or dividends, ISAs remain a key part of many people’s financial plans.
How It Works
ISAs
Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs) are a smart and tax-efficient way to save and invest for your future. For the 2025/26 tax year, you can contribute up to £20,000 to an ISA. You have the flexibility to allocate these funds across Cash ISAs and Stocks and Shares ISAs, depending on your goals. Our team will help you select the best ISA funds that fit your risk appetite, whether you’re looking for steady income or long-term growth.
At Anglian Wealth Management, through St James’s Place we offer ISAs managed by leading fund managers, providing a diversified portfolio that aligns with your goals. We also provide regular reviews to ascertain whether your ISA is on track, adjusting your strategy as your circumstances or market conditions change.
JISAs
Junior ISAs are a tax-efficient way to build a nest egg for younger family members, helping them get a head start on their financial future. Whether you’re aiming to fund education or set them up for their first home, Junior ISAs can make a real difference over time.
A Junior ISA allows you to invest up to £9,000 annually on behalf of children under 18, offering a flexible and tax-efficient way to save for their future. Whether the money is meant for education, a first home, or another important milestone, Junior ISAs are a long-term investment in the next generation.
Introduced in 2011, Junior ISAs have replaced Child Trust Funds (CTFs). If your child has a CTF, it is possible to transfer it into a Junior ISA to continue growing that savings pot. Parents, grandparents, and guardians can all contribute, and the funds will remain tax-free until the child turns 18.
Key Benefits
- Tax Efficiency: No tax on income, dividends, or capital gains from your ISA investments.
- Flexibility: You can choose to invest in Cash ISAs (safer, but lower returns) or Stocks and Shares ISAs (higher growth potential, but with more risk).
- Junior ISAs: Help younger family members start their financial journey, with the possibility of transferring Child Trust Funds for continued tax-free growth.
The value of an investment with St. James’s Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds selected and may fall as well as rise. You may get back less than the amount invested.
An investment in a Stocks and Shares ISA will not provide the same security of capital associated with a Cash ISA. However, please bear in mind that over the long-term inflation will erode the purchasing power of your capital.
The favourable tax treatment given to ISAs is subject to changes in legislation and may not be maintained in the future.
Although anyone can contribute to an ISA for a child, only the parent or legal guardian can open the Junior ISA on their behalf.
Cash ISAs are not available through St. James’s Place.
